Fast Away the Old Year Passes

As we look at the end of the year looming at the end of this day I’m sure I am not the only one who is plagued with that vague sense of unease about what has been accomplished over the past 12 months. I believe it could be called regret, or remorse, or something of that nature. Either way, I think when each of us is willing to openly reflect on how we have spent the past year, we realize that there were numerous opportunities to impact the lives of others had we had the courage to make different decisions, to be more bold, or to reflect more accurately the light of Christ to those around us.

Since its the thing to do, I suppose it’s time for the dreaded New Year’s resolutions, with one exception. (Confessional aside: I’m not really that good at keeping them, so I’m going to limit it to just one this year).

  1. To do this one thing properly:

2 Corinthians 4: 6-7 – “6 For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give theLight of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves.

The One Resolution:  To reflect the Light of the Knowledge of Christ through my earthen vessel.

Reposted from last year….and still not successful 🙂
